The Garden
Images from this period represent a time of intensive gardening and garden building in a small private landscape. Like the plants in the garden, the prints came in small groups or as unique specimens. I was reacting as well to the previous years' larger editions: more experimentation and smaller proved more sustainable.
As the garden expanded – literally into an adjacent park - I became, predictably, involved in issues concerning our common spaces. This led to the public art / environmental projects from 1996 onward.

A portfolio of nine screenprinted images and poetry of Maine. All images are available overprinted with poetry by Frederick Lowe. Published in an edition of 50. Printed by the artist at the Pratt Graphics Center in New York. All Paper is Arches except No. 8 - Rives BFK. Paper size is 22" x 30", with Nos. 1, 2, 3, 7, and 9 printed full bleed.
